.

Although they began as an artsy progressive-rock
band, Styx would eventually transform into the virtual
arena rock prototype by the late ‘70s and
early ‘80s, due to a fondness for bombastic
rockers and soaring power ballads.
They broke into the mainstream with their hit “Lady.”
Most of their subsequent releases earned at least
platinum certification and spawned such hit singles
and classic rock radio standards as “Come
Sail Away,” “Renegade,” “Blue
Collar Man,” “Fooling Yourself”
and “Too Much Time on My Hands.” Big
Bang Theory, a collection of covers including the
single “I Am the Walrus,” was released
in 2005.
